Summary

Albert Anthony Villaneda is a Trial Attorney at BB Law Group LLP, where his practice focuses on primarily plaintiff-side catastrophic personal injury cases.  Mr. Villaneda’s legal career began at a prominent plaintiff-side law firm – where he helped prosecute many high-profile lawsuits.   Thereafter, he joined a Burbank-based law firm defending individuals and entities in primarily catastrophic personal injury, real estate, and business disputes involving damages in the multi-million dollars. In 2015, Mr. Villaneda briefed and argued a federal immigration appeal before the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals before a veteran panel of judges – some of which who also adjudicated President Donald Trump’s Muslim ‘Travel Ban.’  In that same year, Mr. Villaneda also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Steven J. Kleifield in the Los Angeles Superior Court – Stanley Mosk Courthouse.

Before embarking on his legal career, Mr. Villaneda worked at several prominent financial institutions where he provided back and middle office support to Pacific Investment Management Company (“PIMCO”) – a registered investment advisor with nearly $2 trillion in assets under management (“AUM”) .  Later, he joined the ranks of Metropolitan West Asset Management LLC (“MetWest”) where he managed and oversaw the data integrity of the firm’s proprietary security management system.  After MetWest was acquired by Trust Company of the West, Mr. Villaneda was promoted to lead the Data Management Desk for the entire firm, which at that point had nearly $200 billion in AUM.  Lastly, and before joining BB Law Group, Mr. Villaneda served as the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel of Manhattan West Asset Management LLC, a Manhattan Beach-based registered investment advisor, where he presided over all regulatory matters pertaining to compliance with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, and Blue Sky Laws, and served as the legal advisor to the Company, including its affiliated entities.

Mr. Villaneda earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Chapman University in Orange, CA, and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.  He is admitted to practice in California state courts and the Central District of California.
